Usher has totally lost me as a real fan .. I will never the same girl that used to go crazy for him ever since he left Chilly. I don't know things weren't the same. His comeback has been really weird to me, the couple songs that I've heard I didn't like ANY of them. But this one is a little catchy so I ended up liking it just a little bit. I mean there's still has a little place in my heart for some U-S-H-E-R
Love the all girl routine.. Hate the leopard outfits -- I blame Beyonce
So I went to Blue Smoke as my first stop for Restaurant week yesterday. Although I've been there before I absolutely love their food. It's one of the very good BBQ restaurant in Manhattan. After I did some school business, I headed there with my cousin for a lunch date. Their menus looked like this:
Even with this little amount to choose from everything looked so delicious! For our entrees we both ordered the "Chipotle Chicken Wings" which was sooo good that we didn't want to stop eating it to save room for our main course
For my main course I decided to go with the "Kansas City Spareribs" which came with sesame coleslaw, I'm not a big fan of that so I tried to substitute for the mac and cheese but they wouldn't let me so I ended up with the fries. My cousin went with the "Apple-Glazed Smoked Chicken" which looked so delish !
We were so full by then so we ended up not eating the whole plate and taking it to go. We also ordered desert, "Chocolate Silk Pie". Had to wrap it and before we put it in our bag I had a taste and oh boy was it so yummy.
Overall good food experience .. You guys should try if you're ever around 27Th Street and Park

So it's been 11 days since the Earthquake in my country, Haiti. I've been so overwhelmed with emotions ever since this catastrophe as you heard them call it on the news everyday. And it was.. Never would I ever imagine that this would've happened to my country, to any country as that. Not this bad. We've had hurricanes here and there, where we would lose about 1000 people but during this earthquake, we lost the whole country. There's an estimate of about 200,000 deaths which includes my little cousins, my mother's friends, my friend's family members, my neighbor's family members, someones wife, husband, child. We were suffering and we lost hope.
Throughout this time, I was shattered with emotions. I didn't want to do anything. I was hiding in my room, there I felt safe within my tears and pain. Watching where you grew up and spent most of your life in shambles is a very painful experience.
Slowly but surely I am believing that maybe this is for our own good. We have been suffering for a while, with the government and the economy and we've needed and been calling for help. I know many of us are just disappointed that it had to take an earthquake and thousands of death and million homeless to get that.
I assume you all follow the news since this is all over, from the rescue stories to people doubting Wyclef's "Yele" organization and to yesterdays "Hope For Haiti" telethon. After Wyclef's performance it really just set in for me .. We will survive this. We are a STRONG nation, we have HOPE and we are FAITHFUL. Tears may have been shed, hearts may have been broken, memories may have been washed away but "L'union fait la force"*
Keep helping anyway you can.. even when the spotlight is not on us anymore we are still here. It's going to take a while and I strongly believe that we will be better. We have fallen down and so we MUST get up.
P.S. You can go to itunes.com/haiti to buy these songs that were performed during the "Hope For Haiti" telethon
Some of you may or may not know Haiti has been hit with an earthquake this afternoon around shortly before 5 p.m.. A lot of houses, buildings went down. Phones and Internet are down also. This is MY country, I have a lot of my family out there and my friends also. If you can please keep me and my country in your prayers.
If you want to do more then that there's plenty of ways:
- You can text YELE to 501 501 and donate $5 towards the earthquake relief or go to www.yele.org for more information
- Red Cross will be helping also for those who's trying to reach to their family members. Go here for more info or visit Red Cross
- CNN is also taking part, if you want info and just want to stay updated go to CNN.com
- Mercy Corps is having an online donation going towards Haiti. Visit here to donate
- Food For the poor are also having an online donation. Go here for more information
We need as much help as we can get. This was a pretty strong earthquake and many many people are affected by it. So if you can do ANYTHING that would really help Haiti.
The first time I saw these shades was online looking at some of the "Sex And The City 2" pictures and Sarah Jessica Parker was seeing wearing them for the movie poster.
I'm following Alycia Bellamy on twitter -- she was one of the girls from Angela&Vanessa Simmons's show "Daddy's Girl", she posted a picture of her wearing about the exact same shades.
So I had to do my research and find out who the designer was. These shades are Mykita who teamed up with Bernhard Willhelm to design these limited three mirror aviator style sunglasses and more.
Burberry Exclusive for Collette -- Limited Edition.
The gold studs overlay their print fabric gives it a rock look. Which make this jacket a very Couture Meets Rock. Only available from February 22 - 27th
I am too excited about Corinne coming back with her second album. I loved her first one and this one seems as if it's going to be just as good as the first one. If you don't know her here's a brief profile on her: She's a British singer who came out with her first album in 2006. Had a hit singles such as "Like a star" and "Put your records on". In 2008, her husband was found dead so she went out of the spotlight for a while. So now she's back with her another album coming out in February. Check out her new single "I'd do it all again"
While I'm sitting here listening to Aaliyah, I just realized that it's her birthday month. Next week on the 16Th she would've been 31. Can you believe that it's been 9 years since her death? I get sad every time I think about it. I really loved her and she is one of the celebs that I would've LOVED to meet
I know there's a movie supposed to be in work some time this year for her much-anticipated biopic. Keisha Chante a Canadian R&B singer, is set to play her. I am impatiently waiting for this movie to come out. I know I will be in the theaters with a box of tissues, doing all the dance moves and singing along to all the songs. But who knows I may not have the guts to go see it.
Remember the Selena movie? I cry EVERY TIME I watch it. Supposedly it's going to be exactly like that, since it's the same director who's going to be working on the Aaliyah movie.
Here's how Keisha look like.. For some of you who don't know who I'm talking bout.
I think they picked the right girl, she resembles her. What do you think?
Do NOT walk outside with a jacket made of your left-over weave
So this is a new piece that couple of celebrities has been seen wearing last year. The goat/hair jacket. It was first seen on Kate Moss for the cover of V magazine back in May. This one that she's wearing is a Maison Martin Margiela jacket.
I saw Amerie wear it on a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Show in November -- same color as Kate Moss. Then to close the year Jennifer Lopez for her New Year's performance -- a black version.
This Sherry Cassin Goat hair jacket sort of looks better then the Maison Martin one but I'm still against this jacket.
I thought of two things: Cousin It &
Check out Amerie's performance & let me know your thoughts about this jacket
Now how great of him to come out with this song right on New Year.. Making it a great anthem for 2010. Anyway, I'm having a really hard time understanding the concept of this video. It's scary, creative and weird all at the same time. Which is something that I would love but I'm not getting it. Absolutely love the song tho. Check it out and let me know what your thoughts on this video
FINALLY 2010 ! How did you guys bring it in? I did the same as last year, although I wanted to go to a party in the City. I just ended up going to a couple of house parties, drink and slammed my finger in the car door. Good night with my girls. Wish my camera was working so I could've shared pictures with you guys -- yes it's broken again and this time I really don't know how but oh well.
Thank you guys for coming here and checking my blog ! I really appreciate it. Wish you all the best, start fresh and follow your heart
